1. Pets: So if you have squirrel problems, consider getting a dog. Most dogs will follow them with your property, and it is very entertaining to watch.

2. Sprinkle Spice: If you do not want a squirrel in your garden, just sprinkle black pepper or red chilies around your garden.  They will catch a whiff or a taste of that spiciness and head for the hills.

3. Protect your bird feeders: You will need to protect your bird feeders for this very reason because they will see that it is the form of an open food source. So you have to remember not to keep your bird feeders anywhere near the tree. Instead, try to keep it on a pole.

4. Put up a fence: If you decide to free your garden or any other area to getting rid of ground squirrels,  then you have to make sure to put a long fence around any plant that you want to preserve.

5. Clean your attic: Do you have squirrels in your attic? So make sure that there are no foods in your attic which may possibly attract their attention.
